Absences

ALL absences, excused or unexcused count against Perfect Attendance. (eg. Illness, death in the family, quarantine by public health officials, and necessary court appearances.) Always send a note to verify excuse, or phone the office, be specific about the nature of the illness or reason for the absence.  Students must attend and be present in class for at least 30 minutes to be counted as present that day.  5 days of unexcused absences will result in a referral through the SART process. Excessive absences will be dealt with by the administrators.  Doctor’s note and proper documentation will be required to clear absences.

Tardies

Students who arrive late to school miss instruction, directions, and announcements which affect your child’s academic progress. Students are tardy after the starting bell rings. Excessive tardies and/or absences will result in contractual disciplinary counseling with the principal, teacher, parent, and student and/or after school or Saturday detention.

Leaving School

Students becoming ill during the day must go to the office/nurse. Office staff will call home if necessary. In order to keep all parties informed and your children safe, please do not encourage your child to call home from their cell phones during school hours.  If a student needs to leave school an adult must come to the school office and sign a pick-up slip before the student will be dismissed. If you need someone else to pick up your child their name must be on the emergency card. Students are not permitted to walk home for any reason during class hours or before a rehearsal.
